That said, we do want to set proper expectations before booking. Hobbit’s Rest is best thought of as a rustic glamping-style experience rather than a perfectly polished luxury home. Because the structure is built directly into the hillside and immersed in nature, you may encounter occasional bugs, insects, uneven surfaces, moisture, or other quirks that come with an earth-integrated property. While we work hard to keep the space comfortable and welcoming, part of the charm here is its raw, natural feel and handcrafted character.
Inside, curved walls, wood-beamed ceilings, cozy nooks, and imaginative details create a warm and enchanting atmosphere that feels straight out of a fantasy novel. The décor embraces rustic comfort and adventure, offering a memorable stay that is more about the unique experience and setting than modern perfection.
Outside, the property is truly special. Multiple streams weave through the grounds alongside a peaceful waterfall, lush landscaping, and acres of surrounding nature to explore. Please note that there are a couple of other homes located on the property. It is a beautiful lakeside home that may also be rented and accommodates up to 9 guests.
From time to time, caretakers may stay on the property while working on landscaping, maintenance, or general upkeep, but they will always respect your privacy and space.
Our pet-friendly policy means you can bring one furry companion along for the adventure with a $50 pet fee. Please note that failure to follow pet-related house rules may result in cancellation of the booking without refund.
