About:
In the early 1950s John Zumstein set up shop with a handful of reindeer from Alaska. It eventually became the home of the largest domesticated herd in the nation, with over 120 reindeer. Many of these beautiful animals were featured during the holidays in places like Disneyland, and some even made their debut in movies and on TV shows!

For 70+ years the reindeer ranch was a must-see attraction in Central Oregon, with families coming from all over the country to visit this unique and magical place.  Many memories were made at the Old Reindeer Ranch, and we hope many new memories will be made at this special historic Redmond property.

The home is less than 10 minutes from Eagle Crest, a resort with golf, outdoor recreation, dining and spa experiences. Bend is 25 minutes south for a day trip where you will find endless choices for shopping, sipping brews and coffee, the Deschutes River, the Old Mill District and High Desert Museum.

Smith Rock State Park beckons – about 10 minutes north of Redmond on Hwy 97. Experience hiking, rock climbing, trail running, mountain biking, slackening and horseback adventures.

Sisters is a short jaunt west of Redmond where you’ll find restaurants, shopping, fishing, Suttle Lake, and Hoodoo Ski Area. Don’t miss the Sisters Rodeo, Quilt Show or the Sisters Folk Fest.

This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.

NO SMOKING allowed at this property.

The old reindeer ranch was the perfect spot to vacation. The home itself was the perfect place to relax and enjoy time with family. It's so warm, welcoming, and cozy! This home has the most amazing decor and amenities that went above and beyond any vacation home I have ever stayed at. The views of the property from the backyard are absolutely stunning, which were amazing to take in while relaxing in the hot tub. The history of the ranch makes it a very special vacation spot and I would highly recommend taking your next vacation here!! 10/10 best stay ever!!!

Great centralized location to explore central Oregon! So many extras, great place if you have dogs with a fully fenced backyard. Loved the extra touches, homemade coffee cake and the best beef jerky! We will be back!

We loved our stay at the ranch. Enough room for all 7 of us without feeling cramped. The hot tub and the Larkin Ranch delivery were a definite plus. Will return next time we visit Smith Rock.

Property is beautifully maintained, appears to be very newly remodeled and is exactly as pictured. Back yard is gorgeous and great for the dogs with the irrigation ditch running through the back, the labs loved it! The house is right by the highway and there is road noise and then there’s the sheep, which normally wouldn’t bother me since we own livestock but they bring them in at night into a very small space and well, they would like to be out eating. I am sure they bring them in due to the lambs needing protection from predators. The smell though wafts into the yard and the house if the windows are open and if they are late to be let out, they are very vocal about it. It would be nice if more bath towels were provided and the TP was higher quality. Overall, great value and a very nice home. By the way when they say the hot tub is serviced every Friday, that means a man will just let himself into the back yard and put the chemicals in. It was a bit of a shock to have that happen.
